Cryptid Queers is a Sheffield-based alternative drag event. Our shows celebrate the darker, stranger side of drag, showcasing drag monsters and alternative performers from across the UK.
Our flagship shows take place at FORGE Warehouse, a large industrial venue with multiple rooms, bars, and space for our alternative market and performances.
Our Camp Cryptid workshop and showcase takes place at The Lughole a DIY volunteer ran music venue in Kelham, Sheffield.
Expect a welcoming and high-energy atmosphere with two rounds of drag floorshows featuring some of the UK’s most exciting drag monsters and rising alt drag talent.
Before and between performances you can explore our alternative market, grab a drink at the bar, and dance late into the night across two rooms of music from our resident DJs.

Not at all, but many people do! Cryptid Queers celebrates creativity and self-expression, so whether you arrive in full monster drag, gothic clubwear, or comfy clothes, you’ll be welcome.
Cryptid Queers centres LGBTQ+ artists and audiences, but respectful allies are absolutely welcome.
Absolutely. The levels of accessibility can vary a little depending on the venue setup for each event. We always aim to make our events as accessible as possible. More detailed accessibility information can be found here
Forge Warehouse operates a digital self service locker system, these can be found in the main room and can either be purchased in advance through FORGE directly here or on site at the time of the event, subject to availability.
Yes. Cryptid Queers and Camp Cryptid events are strictly 18+
We love supporting monsters of all experience levels. We have an open casting form for our 2026 shows. We only accepts castings via this form, please refrain from sending us casting information via email or DM.
Opportunities also exist through our training initiative Camp Cryptid, which supports emerging alternative drag artists.

Cryptid Queers is ran by one very chaotic ADHD riddled chronically ill monster, so sometimes it can take me a minute to get around to updating the directory. Also the directory works best in groups of three so sometimes I will wait until I have a group of listings to add. Please just bear with me I promise all listings will be added as soon as possible.
